YORK International Retrofit Group has recently completed the installation of two YORK YS Screw Chillers on the 34th Floor of Euston Tower in Central London, as part of a refurbishment of the building's air conditioning system.

The size of the chillers, combined with the building's Central London position meant that the units had to be winched up to the 34th floor plant room in two stages, via the elevator shafts.

To ease installation, YORK employed a special disassembly and reconstruction technique. Following the manufacture and testing of the fully packaged chillers at the company's factory in Basildon, the refrigerant and oil were removed and the units were dismantled into seven main sub-assemblies. Once inside the plant room, the chillers were reassembled, recharged with refrigerant and oil, and commissioned.
