A furnace and split system air conditioner combination uses a furnace with an integrated air handler and cooling coil inside, along with an air conditioner condensing unit outside. The indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. When the air conditioner is properly matched with the furnace and air handler, you get maximum performance and longer system life.

A hybrid system combines the strengths of two heating sources to handle the demands of very cold and mildly cold weather.
