Water Cooled Chillers
More efficient with supreme performance
Chilled Water Systems
YORK® has the widest variety of water cooled chillers on the market that stand up to the demands of industrial and commercial applications.
Advantages of Water-Cooled Chillers
Chilled water systems use large quantities of water, which are housed in cooling towers. Large commercial chillers are usually water-cooled because they reach higher capacities with more efficiency. Additionally, commercial water cooled chillers are typically located inside of a building, so they tend to be better maintained because they’re more easily accessible.
INNOVATIVE AND EFFICIENT
YORK® water cooled chillers are designed and engineered for maximum efficiency.
VERSATILE
We lead the industry with the widest operating range for a variety of applications.
SUSTAINABLE
Our energy efficient water cooled chiller design results in low total direct and indirect emissions to reduce your facility’s carbon footprint.
Products
- Delivers the industry's widest operating range from a single driveline.
- Expanded operating range can reduce the number of required dry coolers by up to 60%, lowering heat rejection infrastructure costs and reducing system footprint.
- Nearly 30% smaller chiller footprint helps reduce mechanical room requirements and maximize available floor space.
- Stable operation with entering condenser water temperatures 30°F (16.7°C) below leaving chilled water set point
- Fully integrated, lubrication-free and oil-free design
- Offers exceptional efficiency with below 0.100 kW/ton at part load
- With variable-speed drive, a variable-geometry diffuser and magnetic-bearing technology York YZ delivers up to 35% annual energy savings versus traditional, fixed-speed, oil-bearing chillers
- Magnetic-bearing driveline offers outstanding reliability and 80% fewer moving parts than traditional oil- or refrigerant-lubricated drivelines
- Robust and reliable high-speed, hermetic induction motor reduces maintenance
- Designed with sustainability in mind, the re-engineered YK chiller has been optimized specially for use with ultra-low GWP refrigerant R-1234ze
- ISASecure® certified York Chiller Access Manager provides secure access to chiller controls to help mitigate the risk of unauthorized access and security breaches
- State-of-the-art OptiView™ Control Panel optimizes chiller performance by precisely controlling the leaving chilled liquid temperature and motor current
- Two York centrifugal compressors operating in parallel on a common set of heat exchanger shells
- OptiSound™ Control standard
- Full-color OptiView™ Control Center for control management at your fingertip
- Two electric motor-driven centrifugal compressors deliver simultaneous hot water and chilled water @ 42 °F (5 °C) / 180 °F (82 °C)
- Turndown: 25% of design capacity made possible through VSD and compressor VI control technologies
- At 400 tons (1,406 kW) cooling and 7,000 MBH (2,051 kW) heating the CYK-400 offers a reduced capacity with all the features expected from the CYK product line
- Turndown: 25% of design capacity made possible through VSD and compressor VI control technologies
- Refrigerants: R-1234ze or R-515B
- Significant carbon savings translates to an annual CO2 emissions reduced by approximately 20% (approx. 4,000 metric tons per year)
- Ideal for comfort and process cooling, glycol chilling, heat recovery and heat pump applications
- Heat pump to 150°F (66°C)
- Uses R-134a refrigerant
- Variable-speed driver delivers superior performance at both design and off-design conditions for higher efficiency
- Application flexibility of the chiller handles a wide range of leaving- and entering-chilled-water temperatures, fluid flows and steam conditions
- Modular configuration provides maximum flexibility, customization and compact footprint
- Uses zero-ODP, R-134a or R-513A refrigerant
- Industrial, reliable, long-lasting proven design
- Custom multi-stage chiller with flexible options of steam turbine or electric motor with variable speed drive
